Dr. Jason Keeler joined the SSRG as a postdoctoral research associate in December 2015. His research encompasses mesoscale dynamics, with a focus on the interplay of thermodynamic and kinematic processes and their role in the development and organization of convection. Current projects in SSRG include an evaluation of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) flight heuristics in the vicinity of supercell thunderstorms and proposed research on the development of Mesoscale Airmasses with High Theta-E (MAHTEs).

Dr. Keeler is a former member of the Profiling of Winter Storms (PLOWS) and Boundary Layer/Mesoscale Meteorology groups at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he received his Ph.D. and M.S. in atmospheric sciences in 2015 and 2010, respectively. He received his B.S. in meteorology from the State University of New York College at Oswego in 2007.
